Honoring Dr.Tim
Powell
"You all have been so, so good to me. If I had to do it all over again, I would choose the same career.
You are what has made my job so rewarding."
- Tim Powell
In October, our staff planned and executed a secret event to honor Dr. Tim's amazing service to his patients and to our community. The surprise was a success, he thought he was going to attend an administrative meeting and was surprised to find a room full of people gathered just for him! Here are a few photos from what we called "Operation Eagle."
A word from Dr. Tim:
There are decision points for all of us which necessitate major transitions in how we conduct our daily life. Often these decisions are difficult, even painful, and are best understood gradually over time. Such a decision is troubled by both the emotional impact of what one is giving up and the knowledge there is no going back. This is one of those decision points for me.
I have come to the decision that after Jan 1, 2019, I will no longer have scheduled clinical responsibilities. That is to say I will not have scheduled clinic or hospital times to see patients. I plan to devote full time attention to administrative duties and clinic oversight in my dual roles of CEO and Medical Director of Evergreen Family Medicine. I will maintain my Oregon License. I was recently recertified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
I will be available to fill in or cover when help is required either in the clinic or
hospital coverage for EFM patients. However, routine scheduling of those responsibilities will not occur. I will also make myself available to teach and mentor young providers at Evergreen.
This decision stems from EFM clinic growth and complexities and my age approaching 69 years. I have found myself more tired than is good this past year as I have attempted to balance patient care and administrative needs. I believe I will be more valuable to our group in this administrative and oversight role. I also hope to prolong the duration of my working career by pacing myself.
Evergreen Family Medicine needs to continue to grow to meet the needs of this community. By the time I retire, I have the goals of establishing another large clinic in Roseburg and Sutherlin filled with excellent providers within a single delivery system providing both inpatient and outpatient
comprehensive care. I want to add services, quality and efficiency in daily operations. I want to walk away knowing this community is in a great place in regards to family medical care.
This fall of 2018, we have 5 excellent new providers joining us. We intend to continue that path over the next few years toward the goals I speak of. That growth in facilities, services and providers will require my full energy and time. At this point in my career, it aligns well with my passion.
I cannot begin to express what my relationships with people and families have meant to me over the last 39 years in Douglas County. I won't even try other than to state it is the power that has brought me meaning and purpose each day. For that I will always be grateful.
Online Check-In
Check in online prior to your appointment. Phreesia (our check in system) will automatically send a pre-visit interview to your email the day before your scheduled appointment. This saves a large amount of time when you arrive to the office. If you have a cell phone number on file, you will also receive a text message with the opportunity to check in online.
Arrivals Station
If you are being seen upstairs in the main building in Family Practice, you will notice our Arrivals Station in the foyer. All returning patients can easily check-in at this station by following these steps.

New Providers
Brandon Bonds, MD
Dr. Bonds has now joined Evergreen Family Medicine after recently moving with his family to Roseburg. Both his wife Tabitha and his four sons (Kason, Aiden, Lincoln, and Holden) are thrilled to become a part of this vibrant community.
Dr. Bonds grew up one of six children in a small town in Southeast Texas where there was no expectations for him to go to college, much less become a physician. He worked hard though and was the first person in his family to graduate college, after which he went on to obtain his M.D. from the University of Texas Health Science Center School of Medicine in San Antonio, TX in 2011. He then chose to specialize in Family Medicine and completed his residency training in Miami, Florida where he served on several committees and enjoyed volunteering on medical missions to Haiti.
He also served as the team doctor for a local high school and had the unique opportunity to train with the team doctors of the Miami Dolphins. After residency, he spent some time doing Urgent Care and also Hospital-based Medicine, but now looks forward to helping his patients achieve their health goals as a full scope Primary Care Physician. As a Family Physician he is trained in both adult and pediatric medicine and is skilled in a wide variety of office-based surgical procedures.
Personally, he loves most sports and enjoys being out in nature with his family either hiking, camping, hunting, or fishing. When not in the office you can usually find him playing basketball at the Y or at the range shooting clays.

Amanda Rose, PA
Amanda Rose grew up in Roseburg before going on to receive her bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sport Science from Oregon State University in 2013. Go Beavs!
After graduating from OSU, she pursued her dream of becoming a physician assistant by gaining clinical experience as a phlebotomist in Astoria, then as a dialysis technician in Eugene. While living in different areas of Oregon, she always knew she wanted to return to her hometown to practice medicine.
After graduating from Oregon Health and Science University’s Physician Assistant program in 2018, she was thrilled to have the opportunity to return to Roseburg as a family practice PA.
Outside of work, Amanda enjoys spending time with her fiancé and their high-energy springer spaniel. On the weekends, you might find them hiking, skiing, biking, or backpacking.

Chenelle McCaskill, PA
Urgent Care
Chenelle is one of our Urgent Care providers and has worked here for 8 years.
She is a veteran of the Medical Specialist Corps. She was also a member of the OSU Equestrian Team for Eventing (cross-country, dressage, stadium jumping) in 1993 before joining the military. Chenelle volunteered as a 4-H leader a couple of years back and continues to love horses. She also love kids and enjoys taking care of them in the Urgent Care clinic as they truly brighten her day.
If she had a chance she would like to vacation in the Galápagos Islands. When spending time with her family, they enjoy movie marathons, hiking, walking on the beach, snowmobiling, and tubing at Diamond Lake. They most enjoy vacationing in Maui.
A few things Chenelle would like to do are provide medical care with a disaster relief team, become fluent in Spanish, resume piano lessons, and learn to scuba dive.
