John Powell
MD
Dr. John Powell is a board-certified family physician who joined Evergreen Family Medicine in 1997. He completed his undergraduate studies at Willamette University, and he earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Oregon Health Sciences University in 1993. In 1996, he completed a residency in family medicine in Phoenix, Arizona.
Dr. Powell serves as the Chief Medical Officer for Evergreen since 2021. He is the medical director for Urgent Care and Hospitalist services for Evergreen. He is also a certified Medical Review Officer and director of Occuhealth, Evergreen's occupational health division. He provides a wide spectrum of medical, surgical and hospital care to patients of all ages.
He has served in many physician leadership roles throughout the community and local hospitals. He has served on Board of Directors for Mercy Medical Center, Mercy Foundation, Umpqua Health, Umpqua Health Alliance, and Douglas Community Hospital.
Dr. Powell values Douglas County's rich tradition of community involvement and producing wonderful citizens. He returned to the Roseburg area with his wife in 1997 and found it to be an ideal location to raise their children.
